Safe-Rate™ Score: 2.0 out of 10

Our Safe-Rate™ Score for this plan is considered Low.

A lower Safe-Rate™ score indicates more pricing volatility and less predictable bills from month-to-month.

TruBill™ Estimations

Using our TruBill™ algorithm, we estimate your monthly electricity bill based on typical home energy usage.

The Typical Monthly Usage column shows your usage during average weather — not too hot, not too cold. Because Texas summers drive AC usage up and mild months bring it down, your actual bill will vary. Minimum reflects your lowest expected bill in mild months; Maximum reflects peak summer; Average is the estimated mean across all twelve months.

Our Assessment:

This is a "Bill Credit" plan, it includes a 13.9¢ per kWh energy charge, which is offset by a $125.00 bill credit if you use at least 1000kWh of energy per month. If you do not qualify for the bill credit, your bill could be larger than expected.

For a more predictable bill, you should choose a "Fixed Rate" plan.

Plan Renewal:

If you order this plan and start it today, you will be up for renewal 12 months from now in June of 2027.

You might consider a different length plan, because this plan will expire in June when rates are seasonally higher.

Electricity rates are generally highest from June through September.

We like APG&E - aggressive rates, customer support, fixed rates online account management.

APG&E got aggressive over the last year - dropping rates and entering new territories. That's a great thing for consumers. APG&E is a recommend from us.

We don't have a ton of reviews for APG&E. But APG&E has a lot of 5 star Google reviews. And generally that's a good thing. Happy customers w/ low rates are "ok" with their electricity company. Angry customers tend to vent on our site. Our job is to let the provider know so they can fix the problem.
